Synopsis - The Artist

The Artist

Dir: Michel Hazanavicius (France 2011) 100 mins
With: Jean Dujardin, Berenice Bejo, John Goodman

A vain and egotistical film star (is there another kind?!), a star-struck actress (and a small, scene-stealing dog) celebrate the silent era of cinema in Hollywood. With nods to Singin' in the Rain, this Oscar-winning gem makes some sly observations about French masculinity - and still succeeds in being joyous fun for all the family.
